Welcome to the Homepage of Hollyhock Rabbit Stud

Hi There, my name is Mekhaela, I am 24 years old and I live in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. I have a passion for Rabbits and most other animals. I have a major interest in Showing my Rabbits. I have kept Rabbits for 5 years now and I am a member of The Rabbit Council of New Zealand. The breeds I currently have in my Stud are Dutch, Standard Rex, Mini Rex and I am still plugging away quietly with the Mini Lops, and Flemish Giant. My aim and role within my Rabbitry is to breed Top Quality Stock of which meet each individual Breed Standard, and of course to produce Rabbits with fine Temperaments :)

Due to my husband and I expecting our first baby, we have only been able to make 3 Shows this season, but will be back into the swing of things next season ~ 2004!!!!

Meetings, Show Dates and Venues

I will keep this page updated with Meetings, Show Dates and Venues for each year, and from time to time, the results for each show:

October Shows:

Nationals ~ 18th October 2003

Hollyhock's Bilbo Baggins ~ Sooty Fawn Mini Lop Buck

Won Best of Breed, Best Fancy, Reserve Best In Show ~ Hawkes Bay Rabbit Show ~ October 2003!

Bilbo Baggins was born in 2002.. he has been to 3 shows so far and has done really well.  He has recently sired a kindle that is due very soon!

Listed below are the colours of the breeds I have in my Stud:

Dutch: Blue, Black, Chocolate.

Standard Rex: Chinchilla, Ermine, Black.

Mini Rex: Havana, Black, Black Otter.

Mini Lop: Sooty Fawn, Blue, Black, REW.

The Mini Lops I started off with when I first started showing interest... Until the Dutch and Rex became my major passion... My mother adores the Mini Lops and she decided to take on my old Mini Lop stock so I am still working with them and will still be showing the odd Mini Lop. :)

Flemish Giants: REW, Fawn.

My husband and I adore the Flemish Giant and used to have around 8. We had to move, however, and we haven't the room for many Flemish where we are now residing. We have, however, kept a couple of Flemish on. And my husband will Show the odd good bunny. Flemish are one in a million, so couldn't part with them all!

New Arrivals at Hollyhock Rabbit Stud!!
Basically I breed Rabbits solely for myself.. for Showing or Breeding purposes, but from time to time I may have the odd young bunny that needs a loving and caring home. Maybe your interested in wanting a pedigree bunny for showing?... If you are keen or interested in any of the breeds and colours that I have here at Hollyhocks, then please feel free to contact me anytime at the link below. If I don't have what you are looking for, then possibly I know someone who does! :) Any young ones that I have born or any Rabbits that may be available at any time will be on the "What's New" Page, listed on this website :)
